Google cherche à concurrencer Amazon Prime
It’s hard to discuss the retail industry and its current trends without bringing up Amazon. The web giant has provided customers worldwide with effective and comprehensive ways of purchasing anything from food and health products to electronics, books, toys, other media, and almost anything that you can imagine. On top of that, their subscription Amazon Prime services offers as-of-yet unmatched delivery speed and customer service, not to mention its other features like access to television programs. However, the Internet’s other giant – nul autre que Google – is reportedly looking to compete with a same-day delivery subscription service.
Tech Crunch rapports :
“Google is stealthily preparing to launch an Amazon Prime competitor called “Google Shopping Express.” According to one source the service will be $10 or $15 cheaper than Amazon Prime, so $69 or $64 a year and offer same-day delivery from brick-and-mortar stores like Target, Walmart, Walgreens and Safeway (though no specifics were mentioned by our sources).”
If the information is accurate, this could spell some very interesting news for both Amazon and the consumer world. Offering a lower price for the desired delivery services is both convenient AND competitive – and while Amazon Prime may offer additional services, Google’s product could attract customers who are really mostly interested in expedited delivery times.
Competition is almost always a good thing for the customer in the retail industry. Amazon may not have expected to see a competitor like this – Google has a slew of other tools and products that make their ability to provide these services a very real factor, and they could even potentially introduce features that Amazon can not support. So what does this mean?
Amazon certainly has the experience on their side, and familiarity does go a long way. Beyond that, Amazon tends to have a very strong reputation for customer service. Additionally, we don’t know as of yet exactly what or how many retailers Google will be able to connect with – one of Amazon’s most impressive features is its extensive network of retailers. Can Google hope to match this, or at least compensate for its shorter list with competitive pricing and benefits?
We very much look forward to more official details regarding this service.
